After years of submitting my work to Magazines and published many times over the years I am motivated to do my own magazine. I want to control my content, and bring forth my own vision. As a photographer I always wanted to photograph women’s fitness, competition, professional or amateur, regardless of the category it was their work ethic that impressed me. However, it is the categories of Women’s Physique, and Female Body Building that garner the most criticism in the court of Public Opinion, as well as in the Fitness Industry. People make comments such as, “I don’t want to look like her” She Looks like a Man” “No one comes to see them, they come to see the Bikinis and Men’s Open Bodybuilding. Amazons Fitness Magazine will be a platform that will both educate and hopefully change the negative mindset about women’s body building.

A friend who has their own magazine asked me “Why the name Amazons? All women competitors may not see themselves as Amazons. I told him Amazons come from Themyscira also known at Paradise Island and the Amazon Isles, Wonder Woman comes from Themyscira, she is an Amazon. All women may not see themselves as an Amazon, but all women are “Wonder Woman”.
