Execution, Execution

My first motivation was to improve my strength for soccer. I started lifting weights in middle school and I also admired the muscular look. Deep down I feel like I’ve always had somewhat of a little passion to be jacked!
The most important component of gaining muscle, or rather anything in bodybuilding or life where you want to see progression comes down to consistency.
You cannot overlook being consistent with everything you do. Without it you will not see change over time, but rather progress then regression.
Therefore, progress will have a Yo-yo effect, keeping you the exact same as you are. When I’m lifting whether it be barbells, dumbbells, or machines, every exercise will be executed with proper form and complete control of each set.
Keeping form is most important for developing muscle tissue properly and efficiently. Keeping quality form will also prevent injuries. With my style of training, it is rare that I get injured. Every set I aim for progression, no matter the variable that’s being used.
Numbers on the scale can look a thousand ways, so one must not get fixated on that number. Yes I weigh more than my weight prior to bodybuilding, but it’s a different ratio of weight.
More muscle and less fat (as well as different fat distributions) affects how someone’s physique looks. If I fixated myself on the scale of 175lbs, I would be tremendously hurt by the fact that it’s heavier than my heaviest prior to bodybuilding.
Therefore I would associate that number and myself being more out of shape than my chunky self. What I would fail to truly see, is the fact that my physique now has more muscle tissue and less fat.
At the end of the day, the scale is a TOOL, not a definition of what your physique is. It can never create a true, strong form of happiness and self confidence. Unless you feel confident in how their physique looks, you will continue to drive down the hill of “I need to drop to a lower body weight”.
