Hi my name is Melitza Guerrero and I am 33 year old, New Jersey native currently residing in North Carolina. I am a wellness competitor and my journey in bodybuilding started at a very young age. I have always been involved with fitness and being active, from as early as 14 years old I would gather up a group of friends and train them in the park. Before that, I started dancing at 11 years old and did that up until the age of 21… Ironically growing up as a dancer I would consider myself fat because I did not have the same body structure as my other dancers. (I was short, stubby, and curvy)… However, what I thought was fat was actually me naturally being more muscular than most other dancers.
I love the art of bodybuilding I love how we as humans are able to mold our bodies however we can envision them and most of all I love being able to show off all of my hard work on stage Where ironically, for most people the stage can be a bit intimidating for me I guess growing up as a dancer and being on stage for a good part of my life, the stage is my comfort zone. I am excited to be able to continue working on my craft and see where it will take me. I’m grateful to be able to have so much support from friends and family alike, I know this is a sport that many people don’t understand, some people wouldn’t even consider it a sport, resulting in many athletes not having a good support system… parents or significant others even friends questioning why you are doing this, complaining, making fun etc…
To anyone reading this that may have these types of people in their lives, they’re replaceable but your dreams aren’t. Keep pushing, keep grinding;
Be fearless.
